Default LSD or no LSD, that is the question....?

Should we go lsd or not. Our dealer is telling us not to. Does it really improve handling in the dry or grip in the dry. We live in CA.
Also, quick question, is tip faster then manual on a track or just 0-60.
thankyou

Definitely go for the LSD. I think you posted on rennteam about the same topic. You already know my thoughts about that.

Manual is faster on a track than a Tip.

Here is what you will learn:

I like the Tip. He hates the Tip. She likes the manual. They prefer a stick. I want to feel I am in control. He said all sports cars should have sticks. Tips are for use in high traffic. Manuals are better on a track. Tips are faster on the street. Tips are slower in reality. Manuals are more fun. Tips are cool. Tip are expensive. Manuals are easier to get. Tip are on allocation. My wife prefers the tip. My girlfriend likes a stick.

I'll stop now. Go do what makes you happy, they are both wonderful versions of the car.

And yes, get the LSD and don't worry if its good or not. Worry about the guy who says, "I am buying the other used Turbo instead of yours because his has the LSD and yours doesn't". It never fails.

An LSD is an absolute must!!! It improved traction and handling in ALL conditions.

Strangely enough, mastiffdog's logic makes sense... it should come down to what you prefer.

Any way you put it, the car is still going to be a killer!

i agree with everyone else-the lsd is a must. with 500 hp, any help managing that power will be useful. as a matter of fact, if you live in the northeast, the must have options are sports chrono (why would anyone not get it and give up on the extra torque?), lsd and heated seats. for about 126k, you can order a car with everything you need, and that doesn't have options that give you nothing on resale.

makes sense chris-i ordered mine as i indicated for 126k. i personally don't understand pccb brakes for 9k. i was called last week by a dealer (and i was about the 30th person that he called) to see if i wanted to buy a 137k car that he had in stock with pccb brakes. i know the whole deal about less unsprung weight, but i would rather have more unsprung cash. mine is an october build-yours?

April, I can't see the need for pccbs on a 3400# street car, let alone a 10k brake job that you will eventually need.
At 900$ the lsd is a no brainer, it would cost many times that to try and retrofit it later. Porsche is basically giving it to you at that price. The same goes for adaptive sport seats at only a grand more.

Agreed LSD is a no brainer, akin to the M030 on the 996, one of the few bargains on the option list.

Default LSD with Tip

When I optioned my car the LSD did not come with the Tip. Did I make a mistake and really have gotten the LSD?
