Cable, as you know from my other thread, I have been thinking about a tint for my car. I think for now I am going to leave it alone and wait awhile and see how it is stock.

Never have gone based on price. But remember one thing. Tint is plastic and plastic will dammage and scratch over time, especially on the windows which raise and lower. Sure they look great for the first couple years, but I have yet to see tint look perfect for much longer. The best way to tint is to have the factory do it custom built into the glass. Very expensive, but will never deteriorate.

Tinting is a fairly cheap mod...
I would definately recommend it.. I plan on doing it..
I think the best tint would be a 35% tint. I believe in most states like New York and California that is as dark as you can go legally. It is not a black out by any means but gives you privacy for nose picking when needed..
You can always take it off if you don't like it. It's really a low ticket investment with no harm but a couple bucks out of pocket if it doesn't work for you.
I do think however in Florida, you will definately want to tint. You can tint much darker (I think like 20% or 15%) but I wouldn't go that far dark, it makes driving at night a little harder. 35% is really the golden number..

So if it scratches, you then remove it and have it redone.. My TT has been tinted for over 3 years and the tint is not scratched... Tinting is cheap...
Why would anyone in Fl or AZ for that matter not want to protect their interior and lessen the heat in their car? Just get a good installer.

The better window films have a durable scratch resistant coating on the film from regular usage. There are many benefits of having window film applied to both your car and home where direct sunlight is imminent. UV rays are not only damaging to the interior of our cars, but it is also known to cause skin damage and melanoma.
