I wouldn't tint. Unless you are embarressed to be seen in your Turbo. Half the fun is to be seen. Also, Tint tends to fade and scratch over time and looks bad. The stock glass looks just fine. The only mods I would do is lower the car about 1" and maybe put a nice set of Speedlines, TechArt, Fikse, or BBS wheel on it, and possibly upgrade the exhaust. Once the tuners put out a good chip I might do that later.

Off topic, but how do you let your kids have a cigar with you? Isn't that encouraging them to take on a bad habit?

Obviously not my business, but I'm about to be a parent too...

Got your clear sidemarkers in stock, all day, any day.... www.bumperplugs.com, hit the order page.

On the tint, in CA on a Slate car, I'd do it for sure, not limo tint, just something nice and easy.

While you're at it, we can provide a short shifter and painted console for the car in Slate too if you like.

Both guys are adults and are their own people. They are above average college students and work hard. They don't drink or do drugs and they have respect for their father. These kids know the difference between right and wrong and understand good values. If we have a cigar together a couple times a year its alot. Besides, we don't inhale.

I am always there for them to provide guidance and counsel, not to run their lives.

Being you stepped in, let me give you some parental advice: respect, listen and be there for your kids. Always encourage them in a positive way. Try and control everything they do and you'll end up chasing them away.

Good mods except for smoking the tail lights.
The clear side lights looks good and to keep it legal use the clear side light that have a amber bulb

There is only one other mod needed on the 997TT, and that is to change the front bumper to either a GT3 bumber or the standard 997 bumper. Either one looks better.

I completely agree. Does anyone know if there are any difficulties in this due to the LED lights integrated in the front of the turbo fascia? I'm considering getting a turbo in 08 or so.

Okay, so my two boys (21 and 20) are sitting around smoking cigars and they're telling me to do the following mods to the new 997TT:

1. Tint Windows
2. Clear front side reflectors to replace amber
3. Smoke rear tailights

I tell them this is "pimping the car" and refuse to perpetuate the conversation any further. Some panel of experts I have here.

Comments welcome.
i'm not sure which is worse, i have a 4 year old and 6 year old that love to ride in the back seat and scream "faster daddy, faster!"

dk996t, enjoy the screaming, the time flies by so fast it is scary. Remember, regrets have no future.

Hey Mastif,

Tell your kids the first mod you want to improve on the car is the driver. then sign up for a track day and lets teach you how to Apex that beast... You want to impress your kids, try throwing them into a turn at 70 MPH while stepping the back end out, while smoking your cigar and telling your sons about the Ford GT you passed on the track in turn 3...

The look on their face, PRICELESS..

B
