Eugene I'm jealous, I probably have to wait a year before I can order my TT. I'll go with AS or MG, sport chrono, lsd, sport seats and shifter.

I just got back from the Opus 911 Turbo event in St. Wolfgang earlier today. They had Lapis blue, Guards Red, Basalt Black and GT Silver. I thought that all the colors looked stunning on the 997TT except for GT Silver. To me, that color doesn't really fit the shape/profile of the 997TT. My local dealership had a 996TTS in that color and it looks REALLY good. Not so with the 997TT IMHO. I changed my order from GT Silver to Cobalt Blue as a result. Have you decided what color you'll be going with. I drove the Basalt black and I loved how it looked! So mean! Too much maintenance though for my taste. However, I followed a Guards Red and it really stood out! I loved how it looks! Go with red!

I spec'd it in White with the Black/Stone Grey two-tone interior. I am considering going with Guards Red (I still have plenty of time before the build goes "hard") with the same interior or possibly Black/Sand Beige.

Tough choices!

We are going with guards red/black interior, leather door finishers and rear console. I was looking at a 2-tone interior until I noticed that the trim in the car is 2 different colors- some is aluminum look, some is that stupid krylon texture gray. I was worried the interior would look too busy with all the hues. The trim tones also led me to delete the thicker steering wheel (it has gray and alu on it) and go with the multifunction triangle wheel. You cannot add the leather "y" surround on the thicker wheel face to get rid of the cheap gray paint. I am still kind of steamed about Porsche charging >$2k to spray alu paint on the PCM surround. It would require less than 2 oz of paint to do so.

I too was upset with the cost of some of the options which require nothing more than substitution of a part. A salesman told me (don't know if it's true) the reason is: Porsche builds all the cars to spec only, with no substitution options. Then, for customers who have ordered substitute options (like colored seatbelts, for example) the car is set aside and another crew has to tear down the parts to be substituted, then install the ordered goodies, hence over $500 to switch to red seatbelts. To tear down the dash and center console just to replace a trim piece, I can imagine thats gonna be a lot of labor.

Wow, almost all set with my 911tt specs and the Aston dealer calls me today to offer a Sapphire Blue/Sandstorm interior Vantage V8. The cars are apples and oranges, each with appeal and detriments. Not sure what to do now.

I almost bought a Vantage 2 weeks ago, until I talked to several broker friends. I was told that I would more than likely be selling the car at right under $100,000 if I sold within a year. That did it for me. The car was going to be short term and I can't see losing $20K (in my case it would have been $40K since the guy wanted $20K over).

If you haven't driven it, the car drives great and sounds even better.

That's a bunch of BS! Man salesmen come up with all kinds of BS. Options cost more because Porsche can charge whatever they want and we still keep paying for them.
