Default 997 Turbo

I don't subscribe to Motor Trend, but I heard they tested a 997 Turbo (Tip with sport chrono) in their June issue...0-60 in 3.2 sec, and 11.4 in the quarter.

Can anybody confirm these numbers?

If this is true.....the Turbo has jumped the shark.

Of course I fail to understand how, one less gear, more weight

Isn't that quicker than other cited reports? Is there any confirmation available other than published tests? AS

I think 3.2 is a bit optimistic...

If that's their results I would like them to test a GIAC stage IV 996TT... There is not that much weight difference.

It has over 100hp more and maybe does an 11.4 and no way a 3.2 0-60

The MT times and trap speed seem suspicious to me.

There is a difference between PAG hp and GIAC hp, one is real and can be counted on for sustained use and the other one does really well on chassis dyno's and tuners websites...........

Just saw the M/T issue. They doubt their own results.
"Until we retest a tiptronic turbo....we'll savor these numbers with a grain of salt"
Porsche cites 0-100 kph at 3.7.
Apparantly road conditions were dicey, they did get 4 wheels spinning for a car length, and were shocked by the computer download of the GPS measured elapsed time. AS

The road was covered in ice and it was wearing winter tires. I don't doubt that tested in more favorable conditions it will replicate or even beat these times.
