Default 997 TT S

The speculation is swirling around about the exact makeup of the 997 TT S. The engine is to be the 3.8L with 565 HP. The driver will have an F1 tranny along with the ability to go from two to all wheel drive at the flick of a paddle. And is due out in mid 2008. That’s the car for me (and my non-stick driving wife).

That's the first I've heard of anything like that.
Somewhat out of character, based on the previous differences between an S and non S Turbo (Carreras).

Seems like an awful lot of different items, unless of course they are using the 997 Turbo S as a early production test platform for these bits to be used in the 998 TT....

If it weren't for my dislike of the 997TT styling in general, I agree, that would be a car to purchase.

Nothing from official sources....they're too busy scrambling to pull in the Panamera release by a year (if possible)

The 996 Turbo S was fundamentally a 996TT X50, the Cayenne Turbo S was fundamentally a Cayenne Turbo with the Powerkit pieces.....both had some badging, somwhat limited numbers, etc.

It would just seem out of character for PAG to make as many drastic changes (drivetrain especially) for a 997 Turbo S over a 997TT, at least based on the above observations.

I could imagine the PDK (PAG version of the DSG) being introduced in a 997TT S, lower numbers would limit their liability to potential warranty claims should something go amiss. The RWD/AWD seems very drastic as well.

However, as mentioned, it would make for a spectacular car.

DO you think they might offer it as a 2008.5 first gen 998TT then and the 997TT-S would follow normal conventions????

No. I think the Turbo S will have the changes like I described above. The price will be around $165,000 US (cab version).

That was my first reaction. My source of info comes from a local dealer. From what I was told the above description is the future of the Turbo S. ____________________________
