Default OD of IPD Y-Pipe connection?

Does anyone know the outside diameter of the 997.1 Turbo IPD Y-Pipe connection at the end of the Y-Pipe that goes to the throttle body? I'm sizing it up to buy a silicone hose connector from the Y-Pipe to the throttle body and I already have the throttle body side size...

I believe 82mm if you have a GT3 TB and 73mm if you have stock TB.

The y-pipe opening is larger than the throttle body. I have an 82mm GT3 TB, with IPD y-pipe, and you can see from this pic that the silicone pipe reduces from the y-pipe to TB. I don’t know the diameter off hand but I’ll see if I can get a measurement.

Installing the IPD Plenum, GT3 TB and IPD Y-Pipe was such a pain. My rubber hose keep popping lose at Y-Pipe end when I floor the pedal. Any recommendations on that?

I recently had mine pop off at the TB but it was due to the hose clamps starting to wear out and not hold like they should. I've since tightened them but purchased new Mishimoto clamps to replace all those associated with the turbos, intercoolers and y-pipe.

I hear you all on the issues with the connector popping off which is why I bought an adaptor for the 82mm throttle body side (Link Below) which has a nice wide area for a wide clamp that I can really tighten down, and the throttle body adaptor changes the required connector size to 3.5" diameter..

Throttle Body Adaptor

Now that the throttle body outlet is 3.5", I'm looking for the IPD Y-Pipe outlet side size so I can purchase the right sized silicone connector, probably one of the kinds that has a hump in the middle to allow for some movement (Link Below), I just need the right measurement.. I believe it may also be 3.5" so I can just get a straight silicone connector. I'll then find a strong skinny clamp to use on the Y-pipe side since the clamping area is pretty thin..

Silicone Connector

My car is in storage so I can't get the measurement for the IPD outlet right now.. When I get my car back, I'm upgrading to the 82mm GT3 throttle body with the throttle body adaptor and larger plenum to accommodate for the 82mm throttle body so I'm getting all the required parts now..

Thanks for all your comments and help..

Not sure if you ever found the OD size, but I figured I would check my IPD y-pipe while swapping out hose clamps. Looks like ~ 3.75 - 3.8 inches. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Sure thing. For the y-pipe to TB coupler, I’m using “Mishimoto High-Torque Worm Gear Clamp, 3.54" - 4.49" (90mm - 114mm), Pack of 2”. For the y-pipe to intercooler hoses, and turbos to intercooler hoses, I’m using “Mishimoto High-Torque Worm Gear Clamp, 2.05" - 2.99" (52mm - 76mm), Pack of 2”.
