997.2 Turbo S to GT2RS conversion

How/where did you source the 992 shifter from and do you know if it was tough installing? I have 997.1 tip and would love to change the shifter visually.
I added the 992 shifter and the 991 steering wheel. As you can see thru pics there is no cluster, that’s because I was in process of swapping the gauge faces when I broke the stepper motor for the oil pressure gauge upon removing the gauge needle!!!!! So I am in the process of getting a new stepper motor so I can install my new gauge faces… What I mess swapping the gauge faces turned out to be….

For the shifter assembly it is a bolt on fitment. All you need is a shifter assembly from a 992 GT3 and a shifter ring / boot assembly from a 997 - 6 speed manual car. I found a crappy shifter ring/boot on ebay for cheap and just used the ring assembly and added the Alcantara boot with the new GT3 shifter..

Thanks for being the guinea pig on this I’ve been looking at a different pdk shifter.

I purchased the oem gt2rs bumpers from www.Teile.com in Germany. The most expensive parts are all the extra parts required to fit to the bumpers. All the carbon bits were well over 20k alone.. the bumpers were about 8k, the full carbon gt2rs trunk was 4k… the list goes on…

Sorry - dumb question
I also have a turbo s and want to replace with the 992 Pdk shifter. When you say 997 manual shifter ring / boot assembly - you basically mean the physical shifter and ****. What is the ring or is it under the boot? Sorry in advance...I did a Google search and couldn't identify the part.

i don’t have the specific answer to your question, but what is very useful is the parts’ catalogue which can be downloaded for free straight from Porsche at:

Finally received the fully carbon hood, upper trunk filler and new roof.. Yes I have to remove the other carbon roof again…. the one that is installed is made like ****.. So off to AMS again… Purchased all the new carbon bits from Marsh Composites. Took six months to get but the fit, finish and quality is exactly like OEM… Exacly the same 2x2 3k weave as OEM and I had Marsh angle the weave just like all the OEM parts. These parts are really high quality…

Also forgot to mention the OEM REAR GT2RS gurney flap that I also purchased. I couldn’t stand the one that came with the trunk which is the regular GT2 gurney. The GT2RS gurney is large and dove tails up and make a huge difference in appearance..
