Default High flow cat options for 997.2 Turbo platform?

I haven't done the research, so I apologize if this is obvious info. I figure I'd just ask and if someone happen to have the answer, it'd save me some search times.

As we all know, if not considering emissions, straight pipe is ideal for boosted cars. However, 997.2 Turbo is not exactly cheap, and many certainly would like and appreciate refined performance. A proper high performance metallic catcon can be very expensive, but still offer performance and clean air at the same time. The draw back of course is high price tag... Are there already established kits that have everyone's consensus that is the best out there?

Thanks for any info.

A quick google search this Fabspeed (I have no affiliation) popped up. Any opinions? Another brand that popped up was AWE. Both brands offers it for little under $3000... anyone with personal experience with either of these or any other kits?

There are a few companies, including Fabspeed and I believe AWE, that use the same/similar German-made HJS 200 cell hi-flow cats, and I think they’re mostly all decent. However, for that price tag I would probably spend another $1500-$2000 for a complete exhaust to get a bit more performance and sound. IMO, it’s hard to justify close to $3k just for hi-flow cats on a stock exhaust (I assume you’re running stock exhaust). Having said all that, I might shy away from anything Fabspeed. While I absolutely love the sound of the Fabspeed supersport exhaust on my 997.1, many of the welds are simply too thin which has caused multiple cracks/leaks. Just some food for thought. Good luck in your search 👍🏻

I have the Fabspeed high flow cats and the one thing to keep in mind is they aren't supposed to throw a CEL. The lead time might be pretty long, but keep your eye on the classified boards here. Something is bound to come up soon. Another option you could do is keep stock cats and go with Sharkwerks exhaust tubes. You definitely have a few options out there.

Below is a picture of the 997.2 Turbo OEM cats. Also the 991 Turbo OEM cats are identical to the 997.2 Turbo OEM cats.

Notice they mention a tune. You're most likely going to need one in order to not trip a CEL. Something to keep in mind.

We produce 997.2 turbo hi-flow cats using either 100 cell or 200 cell German HJS cores. No CEL's with either cell count and less expensive than the prices mentioned. If you are interested in learning more, please visit our web page and read our testimonials. Feel free to contact us for special forum pricing, as well.
