There's no reason that you shouldn't get a second opinion. It's you're money and if it doesn't feel right, there's a good chance it's not. It also sounds like you don't have a strong relationship with the shop, which is all the more reason to get your car and take it elsewhere.

Indi, lord of locations, south east….
This is EuroFed?

Dude, sharing the name/location helps everyone out. The guy just admitted he messed up your invoice, how many other “messed up” invoices has he created?

I don’t understand the fear in outing poorly preforming shops.

I haven’t blasted the shop yet because it is my first visit there and I’m still relying on the sterling reputation of the ownership and know how employees are. The only reason I’m there is that my usual shop is booked way out and I was trying to find alternatives.

Im confused. in 2nd picture there is missing bolt that holds the tank to turbo. There should be 2 bolts. If thread is messed up on top hard line, I would take the tank to a machine shop, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, and pay them to fix it for you. Also those hard line are very well inserted into the oil tank, so even if the bolt that hold it got loose, I don't think it would cause this oil leak. That missing bolt that holds the tank to turbo is the cause of the leak.

I just don't see what the $2500 is really for. Remove the tank yourself and inspect yourself.

Below are pictures of my oil tank. Sorry for the tape.

https://rennkit.com/rennkit-home/996...als-brochures/

In case you loose it or need another 997 doc. This is a GREAT resource from one of our own here.

That doc is: 997.1 Turbo PET (part catalog)
