Pretty shocked at the result on that 09, $91k before fees. It does look clean but I figured 51k miles would put it firmly in the "driver" category, that it would land somewhere in the $70s.
GT2 is my dream 997 too, whenever I contemplate the mods I want to do to my Turbo I realize that I'm basically trying to recreate a GT2.

That auction makes a strong statement on the current market. Multiple bidders wanted that and all were willing to go well into the upper 80's before the winner prevailed at 91k. Clean car, with the lines pinned. Most of the worry is off the table and the new owner can drive & enjoy.

Yeah, plus if you read the regular 997 forum it seems like the 997's "time" is finally here. .2s and GTSes especially have been extremely strong the last few months, and I guess maybe our .1 Turbos are finally having their moment as well. When that 09 hit $78k early on I figured it would be one of those auctions that peaks early and fizzles out with a whimper but darned if there wasn't a heated pile-on in the last stretch. Looks like the winner got a great car.
Engine out service with no mention of coolant sleeves.
I've met the owner of Modern Aircooled before. If he's selling on behalf of the owner, then he's almost certainly been maintaining it. And I'd bet that he's done the coolant lines. Jordan knows what he's about.
Interesting, at first I thought it was a car that I looked at about a year ago. Same color combo. But that one was more heavily modified: had a DO88 Intercoolers and plenum and Y Pipe, GT2 slave, tune etc. That car was a BEAST but man the clutch pedal was heavy.
Final price of $89k after fees on a nice but not exactly remarkable car with almost 40k miles, not bad at all. From the seller comments it sounds like they felt the pipes were in good shape and didn't need that job done. Have to say that cocoa leather on arctic silver is pretty classy and a classic look.
Note to self....have to continuously refresh and not trust BaT system. On my phone it showed me as winner, then said checking for last second bids after I won. And then went directly to auction won by the other buyer. Kind of weak but I'll continue the search! Keep learning as I go. 🙏

I watched that auction end, and I'm with you, I saw no final count down. That was a bad beat. Best of luck on your hunt. As you know, they are worth the effort.
These auction prices are quite remarkable. I love my 997.2 TTS - got mine at the height of the covid panic depression last year for what I thought was a decent price (almost 50% off the original $180k msrp, only 15k miles and in pristine condition). Such a wonderful daily driver but also a beast!
Part of me wonders what mine would go for these days, but I also know there’s not a whole lot else to buy that’s anywhere reasonable either...And I don’t think the 997TT are done appreciating either, even if more modestly compared to the GT versions.
I looked long and hard recently at the 997 GT3s and came very close to one, but ended up with a 1 of 1 PTS 991 GT3 instead.
Would love a 964 or 993 Turbo, but that ship has long since sailed...!
