Grundy Insurance Feedback

Grundy Insurance Feedback
Looking to switch from Hagerty to Grundy ...online quote from Grundy was significantly lower. Any direct experience with Grundy? What put me off was that there was no customer service option available via phone....only way to get in touch was email? Also I think they impose more restrictions on driving vs Hagerty. I am paying $1860 a year with Hagerty for a 2012 TTS in New York, agreed upon value of $90k. Grundy's quote was $1160 for the same coverage but with more restrictions on driving.

I was with Hagerty and switched to Grundy this year. The savings was about $1,000 less than Hagerty. I have friends that have had claims with each and had nothing but great things to say. The key is Stated value plan. I used a broker to buy my Grundy Insurance locally as he has a direct line to Grundy and I can get answers when I need them.

I think my policy mileage is 3K/yr. Also saved several hundred dollars over my old policy.
No experience with claims as I hope I don't have to experience that I call my broker for issues/etc, so he can handle talking to Grundy directly.. my broker is working for me so I'll let 'em do that..

i've used chubb for over a decade now and prior to that had leyland west for classic/exotic car insurance.
chubb is the easiest and best of all the companies i looked at (jc taylor/grundy/hagerty). i have a great agent as well she rocks
i have my 997 turbo covered for 100k value and my 2002 for 40k value no issues and dirt cheap for the coverage in 90016 here in LA

I have also used Grundy for my extra cars as well. The service is great and price are excellent. Recently had a flat with the TTS and had to get a tow, they reimbursed the tow up to $250 without a problem. The only downside is their customer service is open M-F during business hours, so if you have a claim or incident such as roadside you have to pay of pocket and get reimbursed.

I switched to Grundy when I bought my 2010 TT nine months ago and my existing carrier (Mercury) quoted me over $3k a year. Shopped around with other traditional insurance companies at the time (GEICO, Progressive, etc.) and the quotes were even higher. This for a driver with 30 years experience, no accidents or tickets, and no teenagers on the policy. Typical California BOHICA. I was already used to the screw job from my 2006 C2S but this was too much.
Grundy set me up with high limits and a $250 deductible for $950/year. The catch is that we had to prove it was not a DD (wife and I had to show proof we had other cars), limited to 5000 miles a year, and I had sign an exclusion that no one under age 25 would be covered in driving the car. Believe me the last one was no problem at all as I could only imagine what I would have done with this car at that age.

In my case they are saving me ~$2400 a year so I can live with some inconvenience. More important to me is do they pay claims or play games. All the feedback I've seen is that they are great when it comes to claims and don't try to weasel out of coverage.

100% Correct, it was a minor inconvenience having to source my own tow truck this weekend, but as you said i'll go through allttle pain to save $2K plus on insuring my 911. I have also heard the same about them paying claims. If you have a "true" accident they have a hotline through the parent Philadelphia insurance to intake the claim, its just only roadside items you have to deal with them during business hours.

My savings vs Hagerty will be along the lines of $700 a year...still significant. $2.4k difference is nuts!
