Strange issue, wonder if anyone had this problem. The dealer's PIWIS tool is able to read the ECU but is not able to flash a factory file to it (not allowing it to). The car had a Cobb AP installed but I had completely uninstalled the AP to stock ECU/PDK map. I searched everywhere but could not find if someone had this issue before and resolved it. Car is running perfectly fine on the stock map that was put back to the ECU after I uninstalled it. I am leaving it alone for now but I am hoping this will not be a problem down the road when or if the ECU needs to be updated.

 

That seems VERY odd. Are you able to successfully reinstall the Cobb AP? I am thinking that maybe a reinstall and subsequent clean uninstall may “reset” whatever is causing the PIWIS issue.

BTW - what dealer? I am a big fan of Jack Daniels in Upper Saddle River, NJ (and their service dept is open Saturday too!)

 

Spoke to Cobb about it and they said they had never come across this before. They are looking into it. I almost feel like leaving this alone because I had a heck of a time uninstalling the AP last time with the AP going into recovery mode several times. Car is running fine after Cobb uninstall. The dealer is not local to me and the story is kind of long and complicated.
