Thinking of Trading 6TT > 7TT, Thoughts?
I'm thinking of moving from my 996TT to this White 997TT. I'd be moving from a MT to a TIP which is actually part of my motivation to switch so I don't consider the TIP a negative.
Does anybody know this car? And what do you think the right price point is for it? I'm struggling with the financial justification of making the switch mainly due to the damn Calif. taxes and registration which would add another $7K or so to the equation. If it weren't for that I wouldn't be out too much money and it be a much easier decision.
Thoughts?
TIA

If you've driven a TIP and like it, then this appears to be a nicely equipped, low mile example. White looks great on this model and the Carfax shows routine maintenance....you should ask for details to ensure plugs, and other time based service has been done too.
My guess is that there are some local PCA members that would do an "eyes on" inspection and some questions.

Thanks Iflouie. Yeah, if I move forward I'll definitely do my due diligence. Anybody else have thoughts on pricing? I've searched and have my opinion and just want to see how others think.

Pricing seems relatively fair to me considering the build. Maybe try for $68k though.

Don't know about that dealer, maybe a consignment? They've had it listed for around a month now and have come down $2K over that time.

Oh my, that car has only been driven 3K miles a year or so, looks amazing, I'd offer $68500 and if they say yes, just get it.
For a TIP, that's a fair price. If they hold out for more, maybe just pay it. You don't want to lose a KILLER low mileage car over $2-3K. You could spend a year looking for another one this nice. Unless you'd prefer a different color or different car. If you love this car, just go for it.

Actually the color combo is what really attracts me to it. I've been eyeing it for a month now. I figure I'd be out of pocket about $10K once the duct settles from selling my car and all of the mods off of it. There's a tip turbo at a local lot I'm gonna see if I can test drive tomorrow to see if the jump would suit me or not. Other than just hankering for a change I'm not sure if the switch would be underwhelming, other than the color. Here's what I'd be switching from:

Yep, only you would know the answer to this one. Best of luck deciding, hopefully the white one will still be there if you decide to buy it. Sometimes, they get sold to another buyer the same you decide you absolutely can't live without it.

If you really want a tip 997 Turbo, the world is your oyster... Be patient, make offers below asking on cars that you like because they simply do not sell very well.
In overall price-based desirability, I'd rank 997 turbo's as such:
1. 997.2 manuals.
2. (tie) 997.2 PDK
2. (tie) 997.1 Manual
4. 997.1 Tiptronic
I'm sure others will disagree...

Either way I'm certainly aware that the Tip is at the bottom of the list. I guess the silver lining of turning 70 with some issues is that the Tip is in more of a buyers market with more choices, less demand and lower pricing.

Great looking car. Price seems fair and the CA tax is just something we have to bake into the buying equation. Also agree with you on the Tip. It may not be the purist choice, which means you're getting the car at a discount compared to an MT. Myself living in Los Angeles area and using the car as my daily/trips/meet up/etc. etc., I never looked back wishing for a manual.
