Potentially moving to Cali..fuel options for high HP?!
After 11 years of serving, my prayers may finally be answered! I was given the option to move from North Carolina, to sunny San Diego. It is not official, but hopefully will be in the next week or two.
That being said, is anyone running E85? Or just race fuel? I don't want to go to meth injection, and I was told 91 is the only thing available for the most part?! Is 93 not allowed in Cali? If I am stuck getting race fuel all the time, is there an ample supply readily available? I will 95% of the time be on my motorcycle, or in my truck. But for those fun drives to visit my college roommate in Monterey I would like to have some fun in the Turbo. Had I stayed in NC, I would have just gone to E85 and called it a day. Kevin from UMW is saying that's a no go in Cali due to the humidity on the coast. I would buy it by the drum for the most part, and I was thinking about just keeping a de-humidifier in my garage to save the fuel in the tank and the drum.

Certainly hope it works out for you! Can't offer any advice on fuel, but having lived in San Diego a few years, I know you're going to enjoy. A lot of places to enjoy some twists, such as Ramona, Borrego Springs, Julian, and Palm Springs via secondary roads. On the other hand, a drive to Monterey will be LONG and SLOW. Too much traffic, unless you enjoy driving through the night as I do. If you plan on doing the Coast Highway, be prepared for RVs. A LOT of RVs. It's a great drive, but patience is a virtue.
Good luck!

All race tracks and many VP Race gas shops in SoCal. In a can of course.
Hard to find to pump gas above 91 in socialist CALIF. Really hard.

As said above it really depends on your exact location - fortunate here to have 100 pump (VP) <2 miles away as well as other sources for cans. I have never seen E85 pump in Calif, not to say it doesn't exist, but if it does I don't know here.
I love SD and went to college there long ago but the traffic all around LA/OC/SD truly does suck. You have to choose your drives and timing carefully, and roll the dice.
You'll also have to deal with the smog check situation but that's only every 2 years now.

Besides the lack of decent fuel it will be hell getting through emissions testing. As soon as they see non-stock exhaust they will scrutinize everything else....be prepared to changing out your mods. Not a mod friendly state.
Yes SD is an ideal climate, lots to do, relatively easy to get around, $$$$$ but not as bad as LA/SF. The land of PROGRESSIVES, so be prepared for illogical laws, policies and group think.

As far as the smog testing goes, I will be keeping my registration in NC for all my vehicles. As far as I know, since I will be living out of state I no longer will be required to keep the emissions testing(I live in one of the few NC counties that tests emissions but my car passes generally) and can just mail in a renewal for registration.
100 pump doesn't sound too bad, I'm sure prices are silly but for a car I will not be driving all the time I don't mind it.
Now the real question is...do I leave all my guns, suppressors, and high capacity (50 and 100 rd drums ) magazines for my pistols and ARs in Dallas with my little sister...or hope no one comes to my house?
Both my bikes are catless, my truck I think is the only thing i own that is CA legal. 2016 Ram Ecodiesel with just a S&B exhaust and Hot tune from Green Diesel Engineering.
