Default Intermittent reset of my clock

I know this is stupid....but every so often I get in my car and I have to re-enter the correct time into the PCM. I thought the time was only reset when the main battery was disconnected. Is there some sort of internal back up battery like motherboards have? Could be this is beyond its service life maybe?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Doubt it's a problem with the clock. More likely a connection between battery and clock.

I'm pretty sure I have never set the time in my turbo.. I believe it gets it's time from GPS, althoguh there is a setting in the PCM I believe to tell it where to get the time. I assume you checked that?

Check your battery voltage when this happens.

Mine periodically does this -- I suspect my battery may be on it's way out, although the volt meter on my radar detector shows good voltage while cranking. Sometimes when I start the car the time resets to 12:00 or something, but then the GPS signal locks 10 seconds later and updates the clock to the correct time.

If your clock is not displaying the correct time, you may need to check the settings in the PCM as is should update automatically.

Set it via PCM, hasn't done it again
