997.2 TT 1/4 mile results stock to UMW
I thought I'd post up some data for those so inclined and interested regarding the stock performance of the 997.2TT and the drop in ET with Kevin at UMW's ECU and PDK tuning. By way of background my 996 TT runs Kevin's stage 2A kit and continues to run strong 7 years later, the high trap I've had in that car is 127mph and it runs in the mid 11s.
I've been taking my 7.2 TT out to the local drag strip this year along with the odd track day to get a feel for the car and enjoyment from it. Stock the car ran a best ET of 11.0 and ran consistently in the 11.1-11.3 range, the trap speeds were typically 125 mph.
A few months ago I reached out to Kevin to get his thoughts and views on the options available. His package for the 996TT has been fantastic and I knew he'd have options available, this ended up with me sourcing a Europipe and Kevin providing me with his ECU and PDK tuning along with the 997 data logger which I've been using the last few months during testing sessions. The first thing I did was have the PDK tuning installed by my workshop (they also supplied and fitted the Europipe) which greatly improved the take up of the car from a stop and noticeably reduced clutch slippage. The revised shift patterns are also much better in Normal mode (I predominately drive 95% of the time on the street in Normal mode as opposed to Sport). When using Sport the shifts are faster and more aggressive. A friend has a stock TT also and we drove both cars back to back and I expect he's going to have the PDK tuning done on his vehicle also.
With my TT Kevin helped with the tuning side for the PDK as well as the power uplift, on this front he provided a number of different files and checked the data logs and made adjustments where he deemed fit. Im extremely happy with the car, it improves what was an already fantastic bit of kit which is practical and user friendly enough that my wife can drive also, and immensely quick when you want it to be. If anyone's on the fence or thinking about mod pathways I can't recommend reaching out to Kevin enough.
I've had the car back out a few times to the strip over the last month or so running the different files though I've not done a heap of passes (say half a dozen). Last week the car has run a best ET of 10.390@134 mph with 107 mph at the half track, this is on pump fuel with 10 litres of VP 109 put in for good measure. The car runs full interior (I pulled the baby seat out of the back before heading to the track).
I didn't have a Performance Box in the car but using the data logger is cut 0-100 (62) in 2.8 and ran through the 60-130 in 6.7 to save others having to experiment at the strip and help with a starting point I ran 26psi in the tyres which helped with the 60'ft time (car runs Pilot Sport Cup 2s)
Here's the pass (left lane) - right lane was a supercharged LSA
For a real world comparison against a stock 997.2TT here's a video of myself and a friend on a pass. For viewer context in this pass my car ran a 10.6 with Michelin PSC2 vs 11.0 for the stock car on Michelin Pilot Sports, though note my car had a slightly faster RT.

That is damn impressive 10.39 on just EP and an ECU and PDK tune and some added octane, Congratulations and Kudos to Kevin, nice work! PDK's are amazing transmissions. I wanted a MT when I was looking just to play with but there is no disputing the performance superiority of the PDK. I am getting my car back next week from a turbo build and will run her at Speed World in Orlando at some point this winter once I have some seat time. Should be interesting with the MT and 600+WHP on 93 (700WHP on E85, but as of this writing not inclined to subject the drivetrain to that much torque at the drag strip)...needless to say the 1/4 mile in a 600+WHP MT car is a bit more challenging than just pressing the go pedal, so I should have some fun trying to put down a good number.

Incredibly impressive time...but, and I'm not trying to be a dick, but with AWD and a PDK what exactly does the driver need to do besides hold the brake and press the go pedal when the light turns green?

Exactly, apart from cutting a good RT and getting the pressures right for a good 60'ft time not much. The rest of it is entirely down to Kevin's tuning, which was the point of the entire thread

I've got a 6MT so I dont even try to launch the car hard from a stop.. DOnt want to wear out the clutch.. now 100-200kph or going from a rolling start; different story
