I just did mine ('10 tt) and got the OEM parts from Suncoast. They fit fine.

You probably at least want to use a flange head bolt rather than a countersunk head bolt...
I've used motorcycle-style flange head bolts which have a MUCH smaller head than the reverse-torx bolts Beru provides...

These would provide even more additional clearance...

Did my plugs and coils over Xmas...glad I went with Kevin's recommendation and used the "older" thinner coils! The worst plug/coil to do (at least for me) was the front driver's side...

I agree. The only way I could get that one was to drop the engine a few inches.

Just putting this out there, I did the same on my car a few weeks ago. I used the skinny coils for the fronts and the "newer" design in the middle and farther banks. No issues at all.

Is the engine lowering procedure necessary on the 997.2 and if yes, can someone point me to a written procedure for doing this please?
Thanks
Bill

I've heard the .2 plugs are easier to get to. This was the tough one for me:

Plenty of seasoned veterans have offered great advice here. Use the correct, thinner "matched" coil packs or you had better own stock in Tylenol. I dropped the engine 3cm to ease access to the drivers side coils and plugs. You can barely see the front and second coils in the photo (blocked them with the coil and my hand). But they were no problem at all to swap out with the engine dropped. I did not back the engine mount nuts all the way off. I also pulled the O2 sensor for super easy access. PS: the car is on my lift - by far the most indispensable tool in the garage.

I've no actual experience with the .2 TT but have read several blogs that indicate the .2 is a much easier job to tackle. Also read someone's comments (paraphrased) that Porsche engineers to this day circle around their topped up steins and joke about creative engineering wizardry (translation: DIFFICULTY) crafted into the 997.1 spark plug/coil access. Of course the .2 eliminated many skinned knuckles.

Also disconnecting the hose attached to the driver's side inlet duct (as per the Rock's instructions) helped a lot to be able to move it at the turbo.

Where did you purchase them? 997-602-104-01 seems to be unavailable online. Thx!
