I recall was for sale years back.....
Just one of those cars I continue to lust over and possibly my all time favorite p car. Just curious if owner is on here. Love to see this car in the flesh. Thanks

That has to be one of the best looking Turbo’s on the planet. Is there a build thread anywhere? Interested to know what they used to extend the fenders.

Champion says they sold it to a guy in the Santa Barbara area about 4 years ago and believe he has been to some cars & coffee events in that area, though it is not the easiest car to run around the street with so it's not out that often.

Basically they said the carbon body panels alone were ungogdly expensive (23K for the underbody panel) and everything required major tweaking to get it lined up enough for painting since all the panels were meant for a race car. I think he said the wheels were magnesium and $15K.

He also said people have called and asked to do another copy like the black one, but once he starts rattling off the above, that pretty much ends the discussion. Cool idea though.

I didn't ask about the engine mods, but the company is on the web at:

This makes me recall my Dad's words to me when he first let me drive his 74 911T when I was 16 in 1978, "Now remember, you are driving a car that is worth as much as some people's houses..." That certainly put things in perspective.

Per this article about the car on Car and Driver, Champion made the fenders in their own carbon-fiber shop.
