If these are so good (I have a 997.2 TTS), then why do people always tell me to upgrade mine if I do tuning?
I understand if you're doing a full build with lots of bolt ons and meth (plus other stuff) but for just a tune / pro tune (570-590whp), are my factory IC's just fine?

Because people love spending other people's money. As far as I know, no aftermarket manufacturer has produced validated data proving that their intercooler is more efficient, or flows more CFM, than the original 997.2 intercoolers. Porsche hit the engineering nail on the head with these units after missing the mark on the 997.1 coolers.
Thank you! I'll certainly wait, even after tuning, until I absolutely "Need" something better.

Talk about perfect timing. Hopefully he still has some left. Thanks for the heads up!

So am I understanding the 997.2 IC's (in my 2012) are solid and these GT2 units are not a big improvement? I live in a hot and humid climate here in the south (and new to water cooled P-Cars), so I'm interested in learning from you all.

From what I understand, ours are Good to Go. For just exhaust and tuning like you have, Ours should be just fine unless you were doing heavy tracking / drag racing. I'm sure there are better options but would wait until you mod list was bigger.

The 997.2TT intercoolers are the same intercoolers as 997.2 GT2RS. So when someone refers to GT2RS intercoolers, they're also talking about 997.2TT.
Hence, the standard 997.2TT intercoolers on your car are good units and can't be beat for value vs performance when it comes to basic mods ie tune & exhaust.

No mods to the intercooler, just a little trimming of the ducting on the car to make them fit. Is a simple (but tedious) job. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...diy-guide.html
