Default Has the ECU in my used turbo tuned?

I'm trying to determine whether my 08 Turbo cab which I bought last year has been tuned. The dealer from whom I purchased did not know. What is the simplest way for me to figure this out.

Thanks in advance,
Howard

Set the dash information readout to show the pressure in bar. You can switch from psi to bar in the pcm settings.

Put it in sport mode and give it some wide open throttle on the highway. If it registers and stays at 1.2bar through the rpm band easily and you can repeat it easily, you're probably tuned. If it shows 1.0 or 1.1 or 1.2 and only for short periods ie a second or less then drops down as revs move up, you're probably stock.

The only way is a dme scan, it should read 0 or 1 files.

I too have the same problem. Is there anyway to download the installed map and reinstall a base map to start from scratch?

Lawrence.

Yes, dealer can reload your ecu with your stock file. a slick aftermarket guy can do the same. My car had a overly aggressive file on it when I got it, I actually had to send the ecu to FVD Germany to get the bugs worked out. It was really f'd up, undownloadable, constant CELs, etc. Now it's perfect.

I realize it's a completely different engine, but what kind of stock boost pressures should I be seeing on a 2011 DFI Turbo S?

Test drove one today, and while it was hard to find any stretch of road to stay on boost for more than a second or two, it seemed to be holding 17 psi (~1.2 bar). Current owner doesn't think it has a tune, but honestly has only had it a few months and has no idea...

My 2007 has a tune and definately higher boost than stock but the gauge still only shows stock levels, so don't trust it too much. Guess it might depend on the tune, maybe software version in the instrument cluster etc.

Stock boost on TTS is 14.5 psi all the time. I believe the TT is only 11.6 without Sports Chrono. Thus, your client's car appears to have a mild Tune.

The quick way is to look at the OverRevs.. Or find out wehre the Rev limiter is set at. Most tunes have upped the limiter to 7K or higher vs the stock 6750
