997.1 TT Recent Value Appreciation?
I foolishly sold my 07 Cobalt Blue Turbo in great condition with about 40k miles on it 2 1/2 years ago. I've noticed that similar cars are for sale in the high 70's to even high 80's. I've been out of the TT market for a while but have these cars appreciated by 10% to 20% over the last year or so? Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I don't think they have appreciated significently but they are holding their value against other similar cars that aren't (e.g. Corevttes, AMG's, BMW M's etc.). That in of itself is a form of appreciation.

I am seeing a lot of cars on the market for those prices you are quoting but they also don't seem to be selling. I think unless it is rare color and low miles these cars will probably trade hands in the high 60s or low 70s depending on condition, service history etc. They seem to be holding steady but doubt significant appreciation. I put mine up for sale on the PCA site for lower then what you are talking and have had no interest.

Thanks! After 7 years I got bored and sold it. Now I have a 997.2 C4S Cab which is a very nice car but in a different league from a turbo. Saw a beautiful 07 green turbo on the forum but it was priced in the low 90's. I didn't want to comment but I though the price was way over the top.

I've had mine for sale at 89.9k for 7 days, I've had offers of 81-85 from forums and local collectors. I think the combination of sales numbers, Mezger heritage, reliability, manual, and short wheelbase styling has made it the perfect car for collectors and modification enthusiasts alike. I won't be surprised to see 997.1s appreciate over the next 8-10 years from 100-115s at 50-70k mileage to 130-150s at 10-40k mileage (assuming solid maintenance and provenance) before they level out. I would keep mine if I didn't need the money, and in a few years when family obligations cool off I expect to pay over 100 to get one again.
This was the the end of a very significant era in Porsche history, and the economic collapse made it more rare than it would have been at any other time.

Hi Bob,
I recall seeing your Cobalt Turbo for sale when I was looking of couple of years back. It had sold by the time I found it, but I lucked out and found another Cobalt car. Since then, I have only seen a handful pop up.
Not sure what the future holds for the prices, but I paid $74K and could probably sell it for that or more all day long today.

There hasn't been a 997 Turbo, manual for sale here in NZ for a long time.
I certainly think they are heading up in price based on that alone.
People are keeping them. And why not!
