My dark olive green metallic 997 turbo
#32
Still loving my Dark Olive Metallic 997TT.
Do note, if you're considering a color change, it nearly always looks black. Weirdly, in direct sunlight it doesn't look more green, but essentially black. A very nice, deep black, but still. It's definitely not an easy color to capture.
In lower light conditions, you get the real deep Olive with gold undertones. It's a chameleon color of sorts.

I have the same color combo in my 2008 Turbo Cab pictured here on PCH in Malibu, California. When I saw it, I was sold. When my wife saw it, she said “we have to buy this car.”
According to rennbow.org/colorwiki/darkolivemetallic this is the rarest of the rare. My research indicates there were some 11 cabs and 3 coupes 997.1 painted in this color then it became PTS in 2010.

I did the research several years ago, so I don't remember the specifics; however, I was referred to the attached document as the best source for this information. This only applies to 997.1 Turbo, but I bet you can get it for your car as well. Good luck with search.

The Dark Olive sold me on the car and when she saw it, my wife became the seller's best sales tool. Great color for a Boxster S!

Reviving the thread. My wife and I are in the process of ordering a Cayenne GTS for 2023 and looked into the PTS options. We were both drawn to Dark Olive Metallic because of the stunning photos here. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post your pics!! We probably will end up with Truffle Brown interior as well. BTW DOM is still one of the rarest colors even by adding one more..lol.

Very nice! I'm in OK so there is plenty of sun to make it pop. That "breathtaking in the sun" part was what I was after. Unfortunately for me, my dealer neglected to tell me that when you do a PTS vehicle, the COLOR locks a full month before the order. So despite showing a lock date of Aug 5 on my build, when I went in two weeks ago to finalize everything, including changing the color from Ruby Red Metallic to DOM, I was informed the color had locked on July 4. It was in the system at the time as Ruby Red Metallic, so that's what it will be. I was left with the option of walking away from the build and waiting for whenever they had another allocation, or taking it as Ruby. I took Ruby. I think it will be nice, but not sure it will be breathtaking like the DOM.
