Default what to look for

I'm a '87 911 and '89 951 owner and am helping a friend find a 997.1 Turbo Coupe to purchase. I've read excellence Market Reviews, tried a couple of searches on this thread but feel I need to know more. If you can help I'd appreciate it: what are the top 5 to10 mechanical, body, suspension or other issues to look for? What are the elements to include in a PPI? Thanks.

thank you for the info, another question where should I look besides RL, Pano, Excellence, eBay? I'm not confidant about using Craigslist and have recently heard BaT isn't great to deal with.

CarGurus and (surprisingly) Carmax often have decent results.

I ONLY used Autotrader and cars.com. Best of luck. You're doing the right thing. You need this car. I loved my 88 911 (and 96 C4S) but these 997 Turbos are in another league. I only wanted a 997.1 too. Then I looked at a 997.2 and... I had to really work hard to come with the money but it was worth it by a mile.

Whatever you get - 2007 or 2012, whatever, will be great! Even in poor light, in a junky garage, these cars look great.

I have had good results with Auto Trader as well, both buying and selling. Agree about craigslist being full of scammers and tire-kickers. Curious about this BaT feedback as I definitely would have considered them for a future transaction.
