why does my 997tt get like 8mpg?
#16
mixed driving but not much stop and go
08, 64k miles
plugs, 02 sensors, and coils have 8k on them
umw tune, d088 intake tubes and gt2rs intercoolers
car runs totally fine, no check engine lights, no pending codes, long term fuel trims under 5%. pulls hard, throttle response is good, if it werent for the **** mileage id have no concerns.
for instance 2 trips of 11 miles after filling up and the gquge is down a bit past 7/8ths.
what gives?
thanks

On another note, does Durametric have the capability to log or check a/f ratios?

Definitely don't use the onboard MPG indicator or fuel tank level to try to estimate mileage. Do the proper calculation by dividing how many miles you drive over how many gallons you pumped into the car.
My gas tank seems to drop like a rock for the first indicated half, then the second half drops slower. I get IMO reasonable mileage, ~400km per 55L of fuel (13.75 L per 100km or 17 mpg) when driving around town and up to 750km on 55L of fuel on highway road trips (32 mpg if you can believe it!). Last summer I drove from my home in Burlington ON to Mont Tremblant QC on a single tank, a ~730km drive.
Since I've been tuned by UMW, I am still seeing the same ~400km regular driving on a tank of fuel, but haven't done any road trips with the tune. Although at the track, it seems anecdotally that I am using less fuel than pre-tune. Going to monitor track fuel consumption more closely this weekend.

I get around 15-17mpg mixed driving. I have been slow for the longest so I drive pretty spiritedly most of the time. When on a Bluebonnet run here with the family in controlled driving I was at 22mpg. 997.2 PDK.

My Mezger TT gets average 17mpg on oem 2007 tune and my 400+HP Supercharged S2000 gets average 16mpg.
I’d watch your AFR if you can?
-What’s the AFR when it’s still warming up (after air pump shut off).
-What’s your AFR at idle.
-What about when you lightly tip in and out with throttle during a cruise?
-What about when cruising, is it all over the place and having a hard time hitting it’s target 14.7?
-What about 40% load and above? Whenever I start seeing below 10.8AFR or feel lackluster & ubresposive throttle I think rich.
These are the things I’d watch to start with since you have a tune. Your mileage does not sound right unless it’s gridlock traffic for the full tank.
