Default Need some. Steering wheel help

looking to install a GT2rs steering wheel into my 2008 TT
is it a direct bolt on.
It comes with the airbag as well.
What are your thoughts on this steering wheel.
Currently mine is a carbon 997 wheel looks good just what a change.

I'm certainly no expert, so I cant help there, but that seems awfully cheap for a wheel inc. the airbag.

I do like the look, although alcantara doesn't seem to wear very well.. I cant imagine having it on a steering wheel.. I have the alcantara GT2RS shifter in my car and after 2 years (10K miles) you can already see it starting to wear on the side..

That does look "too good to be true" cheap... The round airbag alone is >US$1000. Also I agree re. Alcantara on touch/wear surfaces. It looks and feels great...for a while. I had the same experience as saabin on a shift **** w/ a different car. Changed it back to stock smooth leather after 1-2 years.

But in terms of the swap, it is a straightforward bolt-on when you're not dealing with multifunction controls (buttons) and/or shift paddles. You may need a Durametric or PIWIS to reset the airbag idiot light afterwards.

Thanks the pic is just for the wheel only no airbag.
I was wondering the same about the wear as well, but then again I only drive 3k a year too.
The the gt3 have Alcantara wheels I wonder how they hold up with the track driving they do ?

Ah, that makes way more sense re. the price point! A few years ago I similarly scored a new-in-box .1 XPA wheel at way under retail then bought the airbag separately.

I can't speak to steering wheel wear, as I've always chosen smooth-leather wheels, but bear in mind most track usage occurs with gloves (at least with the stuff I do). Makes a tremendous difference in grip and wear-and-tear regardless of what type of wheel...keeps the sweat and oils in the gloves which are replaced every few years.
