Center Radiator Discharge Question
I just finished up replacing the center radiator on my 2012 Turbo S. I bought the car with 29k miles and the center radiator was a little rough. Looked like someone got over zealous with a HP washer and ruined the fins so I wanted to replace it.
In the process of putting the front apron back on I crawled under the car to make sure all the fastener holes were lining up and noticed that the discharge from the center radiator is mostly blocked by a removable plastic plate that is retained with just one fastener. Is this plastic plate meant to be removed in hot weather and put on in fall and winter or is this the meant to be left on all year?
The gap between the plate and the underside of the car is about ¾” so it is nowhere close to the area of the radiator in terms of flow ability.
Sorry my pics are not good.
Removable Plate under car
Plate covering up the exit from the center radiator
View of discharge side of center radiator if removable plate is removed
The part number is 997 575 161 01.
Thanks for your thoughts or if you know the answer that would be great too
