Tire Recommendations?

Hankooks
Just replaced Hankooks with a new set. I don't track my car. They handle well in dry and wet conditions and are about half the price of PS2s. Hankook is the OEM equipment on all Lincoln cars. Unless you track I see no need to spend the extra dollars.

I've had Michelin Pilot Sports (original, PS2s, PSS but not yet PS4) on multple vehicles including a boxster, e39 m5, f80 m3, and now my 08 tt. I've also had other tires including conti extreme contacts on the e39 m5 and f80 m3.
I've driven them year round including in 30-40 degree weather (maybe a few times down to mid 20s).
Michelin summer tires are the best. There's no other way to put it. They stay better balanced, longer, and are better constructed in a way that better resists bubbling or tire issues with potholes. They stay quieter longer, have a wider operating temperature range, and seem to wear more evenly while maintaining reasonable wet performance (note I'm not saying hydroplaning performance....a 305 wide worn michelin summer tire ain't gonna cut through standing water like you want). They are 30% more expensive but for once you actually get more value than that.
I will say IMHO they are NOT dangerous at 30 degrees - just drive moderate. They perform like a half worn regular old all-season at 30 degrees; not like 98% of the country isn't driving like that.

I have Michelin pilot sport 4s in my turbo. Amazing tire. Before that it had some fairly new (from 2018 and 1 tire 2019 and less than 5k miles) p zeros n1. Michelin it’s just in a different league. Not even close on every single thing that matters. My boxster has the older pilot super sports (I’ve had them ~4 yrs — bought and installed them and a few week later it seems the new 4s came out) and those are great too, but the 4s are better. I paid about $1,200’ish for all 4 pilot sport 4s from tire rack. I would pay more for them over any other tire.

Im seriously looking at the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti R, Excellent price and very good reviews. Anyone have any 1st hand experience? https://alltyretests.com/vredestein-...r-test-review/

I've been thrilled with the PS4S as well - best street tire I've ever used.

I'm in the same boat in Omaha when I'm not running winters since we can bounce between 70 degree days and 45 degree days and I don't want to swap wheels 10 times per year on my daily driver. I was really impressed with the PS4S on my last car because they handled spring/fall much better than any other summer tire I ran. I plan to switch my 911 to them once the current tires wear out or if I get annoyed this fall with my p-zeros. The PS4S still felt safe enough in 35-50 degree weather, where I couldn't say the same about any other summer tire I've run.

My Indy guy is recommending the Sport Cup 2, but I suspect that he is too focused on tracking performance- I only drive the car on the street. The reviews on Tire Rack for the Sport Cup are mixed at best. Anyone here had experience with Sport Cups?

I’d use Sport Cups if you enjoy pushing the car on B roads, never see sub 5°C temps and also don’t have to deal with rain/standing water often.
I would get 4S if you don’t push the car to hard, do more than 5000kms a year and drive in the wet.
