Fantastic, love the car and great color. I hope to get back into a 997 myself, someday...

Had to replace my battery shortly after getting my 997, so it may just be a weak battery. These cars are abusive in terms of their battery use. Locking the car and using a trickle charger are ways to lengthen the life of it. Hopefully you don't have any vampire electrics sucking it dry.

That's saying something going from a F430 back to a 997 6spd. Congrats!

I enjoyed the F430 when I had it, but the car never felt as tight at the Porsche. While the engine/exhaust was quite good, I got tired of the squeaky interior. I also found I wasn't driving it as much, because it drew way too much attention. More than anything, I missed driving a manual, and a car that I could take anywhere without worrying about its durability. Having said all that, the Ferrari was a beautiful car -- great to look at, but not necessarily as good to drive.

I like to drive my cars, but taking the Ferrari anywhere was becoming a bit of a nuisance. Plus, I found the F1 transmission didn't give me the connection with the vehicle you can get with a manual. I was going to get a 991 turbo, but I learned it doesn't come in a manual. So my search began for a 997. I will take pictures once I receive the car and write a proper review. Cheers!
I got out of my F360 for the same reasons, and the horrendous prices for parts and services. But without going off topic I actually liked the F1.

Having said all that, this 997TT is my 9th 911, and getting back into it after the 360 felt like I was home.

Nice looking cab man, and enjoy her.

Your 08 looks like a 2018! SO GORGEOUS. I can see why you wanted it. What a trip to find out that the Ferraris aren't more desired by you guys than our older 997 Turbos. Just... wow. I'm not a Ferrari guy, meaning, I love the looks of them but they're WAY too flashy for me to buy one. I couldn't pull off that look and I don't want any attention at all. Ok, I do, but only Porsche attention.

And I don't have any silk shirts and gold chains. JUST KIDDING!!! Ferrari's rock, just ... not in my garage.

Finally got the Turbo back from the dealer who did a once over to check for any issues. Wound up having to replace the slave cylinder and the front chin spoiler. Also, balanced my aftermarket wheels with snow tires. The car drives beautifully. I'm very happy with my decision go get pack into a 997. Here are some fresh pictures of the car.

Good move OP, I went from an F430 to a white 997 turbo as well, in my case a 997.2 couple, PDK.

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, what were your reasons for replacing the F430 with the 997 Turbo?

I didn’t drive the F430 enough. Wouldn’t drive in rain or to work, wouldn’t let wife drive it etc., much like many Ferrari owners.

I did track it twice which was great fun.

I’ll drive the Turbo almost anywhere and let my wife take it out sometimes, even though she has no idea what it can do. Tracked it several times, not quite the experience that the F430 was but a much less nervous endeavor.

For the money and utility, hard to beat a 997 Turbo.
