Default 2007 997 turbo variant

Hello all, I am looking to buy my first 911 and would like to ask for some help after reading enormous posts about the mezger engine, I plan to get the 997 turbo.
I have been searching for a good second hand one in HK for years and found one within my budget, however, I learned that this 2007 997 turbo did't install the famous mezger engine but the M97. Could anyone can explain why would it?
According to my research, the 997.1 turbo should be equipped with the M64 but not the M97, did I make a mistake? or it is different engine model number for different region?
If so, how could I make sure it's the one with the mezger engine? I have upload the official registration document.

thank you very much for reading.

Jimmy

If the car is a factory production 997.1 turbo, then it has the Mezger engine. The only way that I could see that it would be anything else is if somebody converted a normally aspirated car to a turbo with aftermarket parts.

Only way to be sure is to run the VIN to see if it is a TT.

thanks for your reply.
he car is definitely factory produced in 2007 as the doc i upload is a official doc. from the government which is legit.
why would I ask this question is I saw from the doc that the engine number is M97/ xxxxxx, so does it mean that the engine was replaced?
or the engine number doesn't mean anything? but I read other post here, say that mezger engine should start with M64.

Thanks for reading and helping out.

A 2007 997 turbo should have the M97.70 engine, which is what your paper shows.

My build sheet shows M9770 as the engine type. I have a 2008 Turbo. That is consistent with what you posted.

thank you all so much for the replies, help and explanation, I shall take a very serious look into the deal, and hope I can get one and share it with you all.
Altho we are all from different regions around the world, I am now negotiating for a deal around USD 63K, and this is a AT, there is almost 0 available MT version for sale in HK for a turbo but GT version, and for GT, they normally ask for USD 200k up.

Would you guys think that it's not a bad deal relatively?

About right price I'd suggest. Add $5000 or more with 6MT.

nah, in HK, for any porsche with MT, price at least go up double, I would love to have a MT 911 too
for instead, a 2006 cayman MT will cost about 35k easily
