Under hood paint

Under hood paint
I have a 2011 Turbo S, I suspect that the hood has been repainted at some time. I am missing the underhood decal that is at the front of the hood with the build information, I believe that this decal can be ordered from Porsche and I’ll reinstall myself.
My question is, would the under hood paint have a matte finish or would it be shiny like the body color, the reason I ask is that my silver Boxster has a matte finish on the under side of the hood.
The Turbo S is black and the underhood is gloss black, any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the quick reply, I wasn’t aware of that, did they have a decal similar to the one on my Boxster located somewhere else on the Turbo S

Mine is slick and shinny. I am sure there may be a dirt spot as I have not detailed that side of the
hood yet.
hood yet.

If it’s shiny it’s a rebuilt hood. Porsche does not apply the gloss clear. They spray a semi gloss finish. It can be proven by the date code stamp behind the Hood Porsche crest. If you don’t see a date code, crashed or damaged hood and it was panted. Good luck before you remove the Porsche emblem. Be ready to be severely disappointed.

I was curious so I opened my hood. It's shiny and color matched to my car. There are no decals and my car has never been repainted or wrecked so I suspect that's how 2011's came from the factory. However if I recall, the hood in my 09 TT was matte and did have a decal or two.

Seems to be hit and miss, but it’s seeming that more underhood’s are shiny than matte. It also appears that Porsche didn’t put build info in that location as well..
Thanks for all the replies, keep them coming.

Apparently the options sticker was placed under the hood by some dealers.
My 2008 had a matte finish on the underside of the hood, and the sticker was in the owner’s manual.

In 2007, turbos came with two stickers in the maintenance manual. Dealers were to put one on the book, other hood. Most just tossed it in the garbage. Mine has it, there's a member here who can print it for you.
