Default Being told I need 2 new MAFS

Keep getting check eng light. Some have said running to rich and most recently to lean. Ptech says he tested both and they are bad. So 2 new ones is step 1 and then hope I don’t need new cats.

Its an AWE 750R car. Since I’ve owned it 16 mos now I have not run race fuel or switched to race mode. Just the 93 Oct sport mode. Don’t know if that would have anything do do with anything?

its 2007 with 41k miles . I’m looking at around $2200 and each MAF is around 900 bucks. Don’t know if these are just wear and rear parts ?

Any thoughts?

How did he test them ? What codes are you getting ? Curious as I just got p 2188 and p2190.

Check pelican parts. Oem Bosch is 300 a piece. Labor is less then 30 minutes. I think that quote is quite high for just MAF.

Bingo, that number is insanity.

Do some price shopping on the bosch units as pelican is hardly ever the cheapest. i have a used set that worked fine if you want to go that route

He showed me the codes on his phone from a snap shot. I'll see if he will send to me. I know 2 were from prior cell a shop just cleared for me.

P2097

P2099

Thanks for the more cost effective options. I'll look into them and share any other codes if I get them.

I'm just noticing by the photo that $251 gets you the sensor but it does not look like the meter comes with it. Should I get 2 of those also?

Be careful on ebay, lot of fake bosch parts out there. you just need the sensor. they are held into the tube, which is just a piece of plastic, with 2 special torx screws.

Easy swap

Thanks but I'm confused. I bought 997 606 125 00 each for $251.00 is that not what I needed?

Below are codes pulled from my car:

P1095
P2099
P2188 to lean at idle bank 1(below limit value)
P2188 to lean at idle bank 1(signal implausible)
P2190 same as above bank 2
P2190 same as above bank 2
C190 PSM
C131

I'm concerned I didn't get the right parts. What I got looks like a round tube where hoses connect at each side with a plug at the top.

Help Please?https://www.ebay.com/itm/111399113002

If you want OEM MAF's, then Sunset Online has them for $600 each. Can't imagine it taking longer than 1-2 hours to install both sensors. That would make the install of two OEM sensors right at $1500 dependent on tech hourly charges.

Pelican has after market sensors for half the OEM price ($300).
