I have one quirk with my '09 turbo that just drives me crazy, that the instrument back lighting is controlled by an ambient light sensor somewhere, and that sensor does not turn on the instrument lights when I want it to. Does anyone know exactly where the sensor is, and if there would be any unwanted consequences if I covered it so the instrument lights came on full whenever I turned the headlights on?

I'll check but I don't think so, and I'd still like to be able to adjust the light intensity. I'm just trying to get the lights to turn on in the car before nearly full darkness.
