Enhanced stock, sounds like my car, but for the BBS. Love those wheels. Pics when installed.

I have GMG springs sitting in a box in my garage. Not going to install until I get the B8s. I had X73 on my 6 turbo, and B8 + lowering springs = X73 for 997. Its a lowered sport suspension designed by porsche. I like the idea of no adjustment, and car needs to be a bit lower and suspension firmer in my opinion. Hoping to get done over winter.

Have TPC DSC, settles car nicely, and enhances stock ride.

Pleasure working with you as well JD. Looking forward to seeing some photos once they are on the car!

Default New BBS Wheels

Ok, pics of the new wheels were requested, so here they are! Honestly, I’m not sure I’m loving the look. I love the wheels… just not sure that I love them on the car. The fitment is great… really fills out the wheel wells nicely (although a little drop would make it fill out even better). But I think I underestimated the effect of silver on silver. Or maybe I just need a little time for the look to grow on me…?

Great looking wheels. Better than OEM, but I think you're right about silver/silver. Needs some contrast IMO. Drop wouldn't hurt either

Looks great, and will look fantastic with the springs. I don’t think the silver on silver is an issue, JMO.

Good job.

Appreciate the comments, guys. Maybe I just need to let it grow on me for a bit...

Agreed, a drop would help. On that note, I've done a lot of searching on the forum on springs, coilovers, etc. My inclination is to go with Eibach springs to start with, but I've read about premature failure on PASM. I'll probably only do 3,000 miles or so a year on the car. At that mileage, what's my risk for PASM wear with the Eibachs? Any input appreciated. Thanks!

Congrats on the new car, looks super clean, I'm jealous! I just moved back to Indy a couple months ago and have been on the hunt for a 997 Turbo or GTS. Turns out, the search is considerably less fun when you don't have a car to drive in the mean time. Getting really sick of driving the wife to work when I need to use the car!

As to the wheels, I'm like you, I've always loved the BBS CH, but I do think there's something just a little off there. Did they come with those centercaps? My RS-GTs that I had on my MCoupe had the black CF center caps, which might be a way to break up all that silver. Another thought is that the two shades of silver are too close to each other. Not saying you'd have to go black or gunmetal, but maybe a darker silver to provide more contrast.

In any case, you're miles ahead of where you were with the original wheels. Those things are possibly one of the greatest travesties ever slapped onto a P-car.

Center caps with painted crests may help too.

Hey Nate, this is Dave... I used to live down the street from you on Washington. Sold you a set of winter wheels for your M Coupe several years ago. Welcome back to Indy!

Ok, so there seems to be consensus that I should try different center caps.... Silver w/ colored crest? Black with colored crest? or the black BBS caps?

left (silver background). BBS caps always look good too (i.e. black w/ gold letters)

Dave! Hey man, didn't recognize you without your Pelican username. Yeah, we're just a few blocks away from our old place, on Meridian now. I've put off getting my '74 out of storage until spring. Really sucks having no car at the moment.

You could buy some black vinyl and cover your current caps to at least try the look and see if it does anything for you.

Is the Turbo meting your expectations overall? My wife would love for me to get another e92M but I've been obsessed with the P-cars for the last few years. You make it out to cars and coffee ever? I'd be interested in getting your opinion.
