Default replacement insurance...

Hi guys...does anyone have insurance on their cars that replaces the vehicle as opposed to paying out a KBB type value for it?

Lots of classic, collector and specialty insurers can offer an 'Agreed Value' policy instead of the more typical 'Actual Cash Value' coverage...

Hagerty for example, but there are many others.

I use Grundy Worldwide on two Porsches.

Set replacement value, no mileage limits, zero deductible and glass coverage.

I just switched to Haggerty, the restrictions on others seemed too severe to me. For instance, most others specify it cannot be used for errands, so you can drive it to a "club" event but you can't stop on the way back and grab something from a store, or stop for lunch.

Haggerty doesn't seem to care how you use it as long as it's not a daily driver and you adhere to the mileage limits.

I use Hagerty on the old stuff and Geico on the new stuff. Geico is pissing me off with frequent letter asking me to document my mileage, since I claimed 3000 per car, which is correct.

I think im going to go this route too. Im paying $1000 year Plymouth Rock and I can get $75K replacement value Haggerty for $150 more. I have not had this type insurance since I sold my 993TT but now that you mention it its probably worth doing.

Yea, this has been starting to get on my nerves. Geico seems to base their rates very heavily on miles traveled per car, and with 4 cars on the policy it can be tough to estimate.

Well I have 2 drivers and 15 or 17 cars I don't even remember (cars in my sig plus a herd of utilitarians) and they still send these asinine letters.
