Agreed, and I think it is one for all buyers to keep in mind when they are looking. Every once in a while you can get a good deal from someone that needs to sell or doesn't know what they have, but that is the exception. Most dealers should price higher, and people on Rennlist probably know what they have.

The old "pay now or pay later" adage is missing a third option, that it's also possible to pay a premium thinking you're getting a perfect worry-free creampuff only to have it develop issues that cheaper examples might not. It's really a car-by-car thing and spending more upfront is no guarantee.
