legendary motorcars have been trying to sell it at various auctions.
The last two auctions almost hit 1 million.
Good to see it finally fetched the money.
It has no history, but it is a clean example of a race car to park in ones collection.

to 2005. It was very fast (1:24 at Road Atlanta) but the Track Hourly running costs were huge. Porsche recommended 30 hour Engine and Tranny overhauls. Four levels of Boost were available from the TAG ECU.
I ran mine until the Engine blew in 2003 leading a PCA Race at Watkins Glen. It was a very easy car to drive, docile and predictable. Original cost was $250K whenb Cup Cars could be bought for half of that in 1994. It was very competitive winning races through 2005, when the new air cooled 996's finally became more competitive. Porsche Motorsports overhauled my Engine and Transmission ($100K)
Add in replacement of 3 Sets of wheels, Tires, Axles, Suspension parts, Fuel, Etc
I calculated about $5,000 per Track hour to track the car. The front splitter and rear wing were Junk from PAG and very ineffective. A much larger front splitter and larger Crawford wing fixed that. As delivered weight was 2,750 Lbs. All in all, a great car, but no match for the performance of today's Porsches.
