Can you give me your opinion on this DME report. It's been a long time since I have read them in the past but forgot what is what. Thanks

Whats is the total operating hours?

Do you have a tune?

Definitely there iare alot of over revs but the other question is when was the over rev in relation to the total operating hours. Per my mechanic the last time I inquired, atleast 200 hrs from the last one to feel comfi in an over rev.

This car looks to have been driven pretty darn hard. Unless the over-revs were quite a while ago, all wear items taken care of, and really cheap, I would pass. There are a lot of 997 turbos out there and you can find better examples with less abuse.

Just my limited opinion.

The one in range 5 from what I understand is less than 1 second. And happened 80 hours before the others and I know the car is driving for a while without any issue. I'll try to find out the current hours.

And yes it has a Tune so I know the limiter is turned up.

Are you trying to buy this car?

Thats the problem with a tune, you would not be able to use the DME as a reliable risk estimator.

If you really like the car, do a compression test.

It's a 997 GT2 and the only other white one is 40k more. It's been completely street driven only by the last owner so it's honestly not a huge concern as far as reliability of it. Moreso just resale when I go to resell. If it's been sound with me 2 years down the road then the DME report shouldn't mean a ton I don't think as that proves it to be very reliable still.

I'm going to buy it regardless. Its been street driven by the current owner and just recently someone on here went for a test drive and the car is said to run flawless. So it's current state I'm honestly not so concerned about. I was just wondering if when I go to resell if buyers are going to panic and run. I can compression test it though when it comes. Just for my own peace of mind.

It would difficult to get the most $ out of it or even take a long time. Put 200 hrs out of it before you sell it then do a compression test, then maybe, you can remove the stigma of this DME.

Yeah. I could be married to it. For $180k if compression is good it's a steal IMO. Well see when it's delivered next week. Thanks.
