Default did some basic maintenance today >>

Fuel filter, air filter, and drive belt.

I loosely followed this excellent post. I also used this diagram for routing the belt. Very helpful:



One note: When popping the fuel lines there was very minimal fuel, but the fuel filter itself had a few cups of gas in it. Have a container ready when you remove the filter to transfer the gas.

Cheap Mahle air filter is a perfect fit:



Airbox out. The drive belt has seen better days:








Cheap Contitech installed:



Old fuel filter out and new fuel filter all setup and ready to reinstall:

Good stuff! I remember doing the fuel filter on my 997TT. 997-2 GT cars don't have a removable fuel filter

it's one of those *forever* parts?

I did this last week in a 997.1 C4 and a 997.1 GT3. It was a surprisingly tight fit getting the belts in/out of the GT3. Especially after completing the job in the C4 where there is ample space. Although, when I moved onto the plugs and coils I was cursing the C4.
