Hey Martin,

That said, give me a percentage difference between the power output/rush of your 7.2 RS and your .1 991 RS. I'm interested to hear. My 991 GT3 was much more violent than the 2011 GT3 I drove. I ask because of my undying love of the 7.2 RS. I have a 991 RS coming...

Hmmm, I'd say the 991RS feels 10-15% faster and part of that is because of the PDK. While the 997RS is very fast, the 991RS is scary fast. The shifts in the 991RS, especially in PDK-S, are insanely fast and the car sounds like it's driving in anger (I do have side muffler delete pipes). Although slower, the 997RS feels much more nimble and go-karty connected to the road. In terms of sound, I'd give the 997RS a slight edge due to the slightly louder LWFW sound and roar of the engine above 4k rpm. They are two totally different cars and picking which one I want roam around town with is like picking between sleeping with a hot brunette or a hot blonde. If you ever get a chance of buying a 997RS, you should definitely scratch that item.

I've got both, everyday is a struggle on which to sell (I need to make room in garage). Scud more fun to drive, .2RS more intense (mine has CGT seats, cup steering wheel, LSD and alignment). in 50 years when these cars became vintage cars, the Scud will definitely retain better value. Maybe I'll keep both....

Thanks! You are no help! I knew that was going to be your assessment. The issue for me is as always I am a one car guy. There is only 25K-30K between them in price. I can list ten things I like different on each car. One thing that always shocks me is how much smaller the 997 body shell is. Oh well, the beat goes on...

I still have my 3.8RS (will never sell), and had driven my friend's 991RS.

There is only one deciding factor between the two - whether you want manual or PDK. Everything else between the two cars really is irrelevant.

991RS definitely faster but I do not need that speed in town at all.

As for track, I can buy a cheap turbo engine 991.2 anything in few years time if I want to be fast.

That says a lot about how good the 991rs is. Someone owning a 4.0l

I've never tracked a 991rs but I have to say it's amazing even on the road.

But, if I could only have one it would have to be a MT. Hopefully adding a gt2rs when they show up.

you would buy a 991 RS over 997 RS 3.8 for investment at current prices?

Still very interesting that you would take 991rs over 997.2rs.
Investment cars are boring, I have an old 996rs that just sits. 😜😜

The ones we drive are the fun ones.

i dont invest in cars. i beat the crap out of them.
991RS and 3.8 are both poor investment choice.
it's better if you bought apple at $200.
RS4.0 perhaps

my order of pref per my heart : RS4.0, 991RS, 6gt3 (no RS in usa, not easily anyway), RS3.8
my order of pref per my brain: 991RS, RS4.0: RS3.8, 6GT3

dont listen to me. buy what sings to you.
i take my duramax dually over a panamera, pepper TTS, or any M power, AMG cars. so, i am little abnormal.

where does the 7.2 GT3 slot in? or do you feel that the GT3 is just too much of an awkward stepping stone to the RS for it to be rate at all?

I thought you had gone down the AC/964 love affair route not so long ago. Not in your ranking anywhere or just not remotely close to same animal? Although a 991 and 997 almost as different as a 964 and a 997 in my book.
