Default Carista

Hello,

I'm thinking of getting the Carista bluetooth obdII, I think it will work for both my GT3 and Audi S3-
Searched rennlist and there's no info on it. Resetting the S3's oil chance and service required a trip to a friend's shop, so I guess it's worth it 'cause traffic alone on a drive across town can drive anyone nuts :banged:

I'll be reading more about it, but if coding is possible(can't do it with my durametric enthusiast) I might just give it a try.
ECS says it's compatible with both cars, carista site didn't have enough info. I believe once you purchase the thing you can use it on multiple cars-

Best,
JB

I'd be curious if it allows you to code a Porsche. My gut says no. Besides, what can you do with it after you've coded the car? Just find a friend with PIWIS or Durametric, have them do the comfort windows function and remove the seat belt chime and you're done. Not much else to be coded on these cars.

Irritant #1 was getting the oil/service erased on the Audi. Oil reminder can be done through the car, but Service message was only done at my friend's shop-

So I might try it, seems like it can be used on multiple cars, there's a pretty long list.

Upon further reading on their website, for porsche cars it only offers basic obd2 diagnosing, but for the Audi it's a lot more-
Perhaps updates will come along-

Back when I had Audis Ross Tech's VAG COM (VCDS) was the gold standard for those cars.

I think the Porsche software code is very hard to crack and Durametric has been the only reasonably priced aftermarket company that's made a good product so far. Perhaps also other third party companies are hesitant to jump in due to low volume of cars Porsche sells compared to other brands.
