Reducing numeric / cup cable noise in a GT3

I recently installed a set of numeric cables on my .2 GT3. Seem to be getting the same noises others reference -- tranny whine sounds like a drill..and some (faint) rattle sounds at low-to-mid RPMs. The tech did move over the rubber bushing for the firewall.
It's not a big deal but the car is used as a street car with an occasional passenger...so curious if any fellow GT3 owners have had success attenuating the sound.
I see some threads from the Cayman guys referencing various approaches. Curious if anyone has tried something similar on a GT3...
(1) Switching to larger diameter silicon cable wrapping in the engine compartment (is this even used in a GT3?)

(2) Dynamat in the center console:

Put race car parts on car get race car enhancements.
Put the stock cables back on!!!
Good thing you don't have a lwfw or you'd really be going nuts.

There is no need to remove the cables. Defeats the whole purpose of putting them in. The noise is so insignificant that its really hard to notice. If you have exhaust or intake mods you will not even notice the noise. You can simply wrap the cables with some 7/16 ID fuel line or I sell some silicone tubing that works really well. I have done this on numerous cars and quite a few shops have done the same. It's cheap and really simple to do.

I just had cup cables installed and have not noticed any additional noise.
If it really bothers you, try lining the interior of the console with Dynamat. That's a DYI job.
