You guys are so hardcore
FB and social media in general can be huge assets, it all depends on how you want to use them. They get a bad rap because of all the internet voyeurism we're subjected to. But you can tailor your experience to your liking and avoid the drama. Much like an internet forum, actually. Or a car club. Or anything else for that matter.

I refuse to use ANY of them except instagram. I gave into that because, well, i like pictures of awesome cars. And the simplicity of that appeals to me.
I have a team of recruiters who subscribe to linkedin to staff my teams, i know what it's used for (and I get enough recruiter calls and emails), i network the old fashioned way, by phone, coffee, beer, and texting ... :-)
So yeah, I'm a social network ghost.
