Yes it's a40 rated. Motul has several that are.
I'm using 300v power at the moment which is a racing oil I guess it would be a grade higher than this not sure if "better"

Long Live Motul. My favorite oil of all time.

Use Xcess 5/40 in the GT3, CTT and RS4

Use Xcess 5/30 FE in the Q.

300v IS better all around, however not ideal for "street" car, from what i was told from a motul rep- forgot reason, Audion19's on thread below said why - which i believe he is on the money. I got a cases a few years back for my turbo. The stuff smells like money and the fluid is like gold when pouring. Lovely stuff.

Matt, this is definitely the wrong stuff for P-cars. Car will grenade instantly.

perfect timing on this thread - I was just going to order oil. I have always used Mobil1, I have heard great things about Motul, is Motul 5/40 as listed in the Amazon Link " better" for a .2 RS? Not tracking the car, I know, I know.... but I have an cooled for that.

Thanks for the guidence

Thinking of racecar - needs to be cool with being very hot and then sitting around

I run 8100 x-cess in our E55 and 997 turbo. Just ordered a bunch to stock up. Heck I might start putting it in my truck :-)

I'm interested to see when more US importers start carrying their new sport oil...which sounds like something between the 8100 line and 300v line based on the description. Only available from a few sources in the US right now and as such it's more expensive than it needs to be.

Joking aside. Run the 300V for your race car. From my experience, on a 996 turbo car which generates a lot of heat at the track- this stuff was awesome.

$61 dollars for 5 liters. If the price for 8100 was not wit the massive discount, i'd get this to try. I'm going to do some research on the Motul Sport in the mean time. Thanks for the heads up on the Motul Sport.

Even Rotella T 5-40 is good. The turbo cars seem to really love the oil (used in Evo and STi) and have had great results via analysis. The Motul will work in a race car. What matters is your intervals.

BTW, you aren't running flat tappers in the boxter Matt. Thus, ZDDP isn't too much a concern.

I use 300V in my turbo... blackstone labs analysis after changes is everything looking good in a street/track driven car. motul is good stuff, I just bought a bunch of 300V otherwise I would grab some of this.. actually may grab it anyway..
