They aren't making any more analog Mezger powered GT3s. Our older cars will be just fine over the long haul, and you know how Porsche folks LOVE the stuff they cannot get new anymore.

My 2010 GT3 RS has 65k miles, and I plan to keep driving her until I'm no longer able to!

I cannot take credit for most of them, but I was not afraid to buy the car and continue to drive and enjoy it!

She was fast and fun at Shift S3ctor in Oregon a couple months ago too!

With the current engine issues - would not want to own a 991 GT3 past warranty.

Hahaha, proper mooty response! You have way more of these events near you (Coalinga, CA) so I should be the one asking to be invited.

About two years ago, I bought a GT3 because my friend told me that I could buy one, drive it for a year & get my money back-which turned out to be true. What he didn't tell me was that I would get addicted to the track & mods & end up spending all my extra jack on track entertainment- and love it!

Do you guys think 997 prices are going to soften when the 991 GT3 arrives with manual transmission? If I sell it would be next spring or summer.

You advice is appreciated.
997GT3 prices will not be affected by a 991.2GT3 manual.
(Some 997 folks jumped ship for the 991GT3 PDK, but that dosnt appear to be the better buy as time goes on.)

The 997GT3 is an analog hotrod 911 right out of the box. A classic. Small, simple and no 4 wheel steering etc. It is not a great daily driver but it is alot of fun.
You can also tear them down and build them back up over and over again.
Resale prices are at an all time high.

The 991.1GT3 is a great grand tourer and very fast car. Especially thanks to the PDK. It is not the same experience as the 997GT3 however and never will be. It is the largest 911 to date. I like them but I wouldnt want to deal with tearing one down and building it back up in 10 years as a "keeper" car. Not unless they were cheap enough to buy.

The 991GT3 is such a technology advanced car that it works well with PDK. Im not sure why Porsche would stick a manual in it now... I really like the PDK.
I dont think the manual will give the analog experience folks would expect, especially the 997GT3 crowd.
It is just not a car I would really get excited about in a manual transmission...

To be honest, I cant see many 991GT3 PDK owners trading up to the manual 991.2GT3....
Id keep the the PDK.

I think the 991.2GT3 Manual will target those in the market who missed out on the 997GT3 era. They now have an opportunity to buy a new GT3 with a manual.
It will also target those who still want their one and only weekend car to be a manual.

I will be surprised if demand is high and people pay over sticker.
I wouldnt be surprised if demand is low and production reflects it thereby making the car rare in time....

If Porsche dosnt sell many, I cant see them offering another GT3 manual option in the future.

Would agree on all counts. The 997 developed by Motorsport and Le Mans battle tested. PDK is fast and can be fun on the track. That said - would pass on the 991.1 GT3 and wait for the the 991.2. Hopefully it will have the new 991 RSR derived engine in it.

We all have opinions. I sold my 991 GT3 to get GT4 strictly to get manual. Found PDK boring for daily driving. Even my winter VW Golf R is a manual.
My take home. I should have kept my 997.1 RS

Track mainly = PDK
Anything else =manual IMHO. YMMV

As time goes on, I firmly believe that more people are going to think exactly that. This is a chief reason I think that 997.1/.2 GT3/RS prices are not really going to falter much in the short term, and will rise up considerably over the medium to long term. But, I don't have a crystal ball either...just a good gut feeling for it.
