I wish you could, but you can't get a nice CGT for the price of an R, let alone a CGT+991rs.

A manual 991gt3 is not a total substitute for 997 but is is a manual and will take away one special box from the 997. Don't get me wrong, 997 gt3/RS my fav car of all time. I've owned several and I still own a couple. BUT. if any of you are telling me the future price trajectory of 997 gt3 is the same with a PDK-only gt3 future lineup or a manual option, I think you have a hard time defending it. Not saying you see a dip but that probably means you would have seen a leg higher had it been pdk-only.

Yes it will have an effect. Whether that means less upside from here or a dip, I don't know, but it is not a bullish event for the 997gt3 market. Still has mezger, size, rawness, etc, but one less bullish driver going forward.

997.1 and 997.2 are the best looking, no question about it-and everybody is entitled to my opinion

991 GT3 and 997.1 are completely different vehicles manual or not, drive both, shoot just sit in both and the difference is immediately apparent.

and 35K miles is high mileage?!

I would take the 997.1 every day of the week... smaller, more analog... extra power doesn't do it for me... rear wheel steering doesn't do it for me... is the 997.1 gt3 market softening ?

If it's tough to get a manual 991.2 GT3 without paying a big mark up, I could see demand for the 997.2 GT3 even strengthen as buyers look at other manual GT3 options.

I greatly appreciate all the feedback. It has been very helpful. I guess I will just think it over the winter and make my decision next Spring.

I've had the car for almost 3 years now. Just getting a little itchy and wanted to try something different. However, I truly do love this car!

Why not some upgrades to give it new vigor, suspension, flywheel, bypass, tune, etc

less analysis
buy a car, any of them
go drive it
when the price of 991 or 997 or whatever goes down, you may very well be dead....
at that point, value really no matter.
had a few surgeries
fell off canyons
fell off 9' ladder (from the very top) and landed on concrete
flipped a car, missed a tree

i think i just enjoy now.
you gents keep talking pls

When are you writing book of Mooty-isms? I will buy 25 copies and distribute to friends and family. World will be a better place. After book becomes best seller, you go on speakng tour. Not at convention hall or typical venue---you will tour all racetracks in US. Start at Lime Rock. Then Watkins Glen. I will be tour manager. Don't worry about my salary, just give me 4.0. Thanks!

Do you guys think 997 prices are going to soften when the 991 GT3 arrives with manual transmission? If I sell it would be next spring or summer.

You advice is appreciated.

I agree 100%

However, after reading threads with lots of 3's under 10k, I feel mine is super high miles!

Not exactly apples to apples but look what's happened in the 911 turbo (turbo as in turbo badge on the deck lid ) market once the 991-2 turbos came out. The effect on 997TT was minimal if any. 991-1 dropped.
Which may be why the local dealers seem to be flooded with them all of a sudden. Those and C4s' - but I suspect that's seasonal.
