I just did a write up on the audio sub-section about my broken sound package plus ASK amp and it's replacement, I figured it's also GT3 related so I would post it in here as well. If this is against some rule, please delete and sorry.

Nice work.
For those that want to retain the factory ASK amp, here is your best solution:
http://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php/services.html
He repairs and upgrades the weak components, and offers 5 year warranty. I just went through this process with him and it was great.
Just another option if you dont want to have to go the route of aftermarket. $135 USD fixed price which includes return shipping and very fast turnaround.

Thanks! Very detailed.
Failure of this amplifier could be the cause of some complaints about the GT3 sound system. You made it look easy to fix.

Thanks.
That is exactly what I'm starting to wonder. Might be that everyone that is complaining about poor audio has their amp blown and are only hearing the sound that is produced by the radio only when the amp is out and are just accepting it as poor Porsche GT3 audio.
When the amp is woking properly and powering all speakers it really is not that bad guys.
If you think that your audio is too low, and lacks bass, unplug the amp in the trunk, if there is no change in audio quality your amp is toast and you need to replace/fix it.

I ended up going with the OEM amp repair/upgrade by Bergvill. Total cost was about 175, that included shipping to Norway, labor, and return shipping. Pricier than the OP's solution, but I wanted to maintain OEM component.
