home at last. new to me 997.2 GT3
introdouching
A brief history of my scant P-car ownership. 1st Porsche was a 1985.5 944, NA. It was stripped out, track prepped, on coilovers at all 4 corners. It was alittle ratty appearing, but safe. This great momentum car got me through one season of DEs. After about 1 year of ownership, it was sold, and replaced with an E36 M3 (also semi-prepped)
As for my DD, I had a F80 M3 for about 1.5yrs. Beautiful car, fast, fairly agile given it's size. Twin turbo made power...everywhere. But a DCT.
Alas, wanted something more track focused, but would still be my DD. Would be tracked 1-2 days a season. Wanted a rawer, more driver-engagement (pardon the cliche). Of course it had to be a manual. With my budget, came down to the 997.2 GT3 and 981 GT4. Hard decision, but, despite the GT4 being the new model and a very good car in its own right; I pulled the trigger and went with the 997.2 GT3. I figured, there will always be more GT4s, but a hydraulic steering, mezger engine GT3? not much more of those, and not in speed yellow.
36K mileage on her, so not a collectors car. Pulls hard and passed a PPI without a hiccup. Previous owner is a well respected Porsche-phile here on RL.
