Default Porsche 997.2 GT3 24,000 Mile Interval Maintenance Service

Attachment 1344394
Porsche 997.2 GT3 24,000 Mile Interval Maintenance Service at BBi Autosport

This clean white Porsche 997.2 GT3 from San Diego stopped by for its 24,000 mile interval major service. As per Porsche's recommendations, the service consists of: changing the engine oil and oil filter, replacing the spark plugs, air filter, and pollen filter, and complete multi-point inspection. We also did a brake flush since it needs to flushed every 2 years. Here are some pictures that we would like to share:

Since this vehicle will spiritedly driven, we used premium Torco SR-5R fully synthetic engine oil and Brembo HTC 64T brake fluid for improved protection and braking performance.

Diagnostic system tests are performed to read out memory faults and reset maintenance interval and the battery, starting, and charging system are tested with the latest Snap On Battery System Tester.

Some beauty shots of the car after completing the service.

great work on the 24K, I didn't think that the plugs can get wrecked so easily in 2 years or 24K but after doing my own 24K service, I saw the wear and became a believer these service intervals aren't no joke!

These are about 1 year old with about 25 track days. Sorry for the crappy picture. But you can generally see the wear and coloring. Good condition but worn a bit.

Those spark plugs look pretty good for 25 track days.

Thanks SignatureJames! The the intervals get even shorter with the 991 GT3. The spark plugs on those need to be replaced every 12,000 miles.

Looks like you use over the counter Bosch plugs. I found delayed start with them. Swapping back to Porsche spec plugs fixed the issue for me.

I sourced those and had BBI installed. I've no issues at all in 3 years of running the, including dyno pulls at Cobb showing very strong power.
Plugs are the same except for the screw on cap and the box. Oh and price.

Oh see BBI posted new pic.. Maybe they're using same.

I was surprised as well. I have held on to them. Will try again in a few yrs. maybe something was astray. The fact that the tips are different made me think that could be causing the issue. Changing to factory plugs made the problem go away.
Odd.
