both cars will hold value pretty well, drive both and see. The turbo for DD has a much easier to use clutch than the GT3 and it has 4 seats. The negative is it doesn't sound as sexy, and no mods you do will make it sound as good.

I did this same exercise 3 months ago. I actually ended up buying a 997.2 GT3 6 weeks ago. It is a great car and so glad I didn't buy the TT. I have put nearly 2000 miles on it in 6 weeks and drive it everywhere. Very liveable as daily. You won't regret either purchase, but the GT3 is special. Of course, if you can swing both, all the better.

In the past year and a half I have owned a 997.1 Turbo and now a 997.1 GT3.

I miss the torque from the turbo and it being a great daily driver. Ill have to pick up another turbo down the road.

at the end of the day, I love the GT3 more than I did the turbo. Ill never look back on the switch from Turbo ---> GT3.

You must get the GT3. It is a high reving animal.
It is a legend in it's own time and a must have for any collection.

If you want the best 911 experience, this is it.

I have both, but the GT3 is the best of the best.
It is the engine and lightweight concept.

Values for GT3 will always be strong. All of them.
The manual 997 turbo values have been stable, but will never be that of the GT3.

The 997 turbo will never follow suit of the 993 turbo in terms of value. They will be forever in the shadows of the 997 GT3 and GT2.

IMO: The turbo will not be as valuable in the future.

Looking at the cars you currently own you may really enjoy the 991 GT3RS

I personally think the 997tt is a very under valued car. Just needs a little help with suspension and sound and you have a beast of a car. I am also a big fan of .1RS but thats alotta dough.

Or maybe wait for the 991gt2rs! Different price point but I'm guessing it will cover all bases.

Welcome!

I don't think that .1 GT3s are revered, but I think that for comparison purposes the GT3 will likely maintain value better than the Turbo.
Highly unlikely 997 Turbos will show same appreciation as the 993 Turbo, but I'm holding on to my .1 Turbo just in case......................

They're both great, I think you'll only get the most from a GT3 on the track at 10/10ths, whereas a turbo is a much better road car and is great fun going at a less frantic pace. The speed at which a turbo can cover ground on a mountain road is amazing.

So if you plan to track a lot get a GT3, if you'll never track then get the Turbo.

If you think 993 Turbo prices have done well, then look at 993 Carrera RS prices! Not sure if you got those in the states, but they're probably 2-3x the price of a 993 turbo here.

If you buy the Turbo first, you will one day own a GT3.

If you buy the GT3 first, you will never know a Turbo.

GT3 is your destiny.

I drove several TT, both 996 and 997 -they are more of a luxury modern 911, and cannot be compared in any way regarding value of aircooled Turbo Porsches. AWD as well if that is preferred or needed.

Like others said, GT3 totally different animal and definitely not for everyone.

Have fun testing and shopping for your Porche.

Typical RL, the OP posts once and then never comes back -- meanwhile everyone goes full retard on their analysis.
